Hi! I'm Bethany.
Welcome to my website! I'm so glad you are here!

At the age of 5, I fell in love with the piano. My mother was my first piano teacher, and I knew from an early age that music would always be a part of my life. I started playing piano regularly at my church at age 13, and it was there that I discovered the joy of serving others through music.

I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education and have taught high school band, choir, handbells, and private piano lessons. I currently work full-time as an elementary general music teacher, and it is my dream job! I love helping children develop a lifelong appreciation and understanding of music, and I love watching how music cultivates creativity and brings happiness to the hearts of my students.
In high school, I started performing at local retirement and
nursing homes. I love forming relationships with residents,
learning about their lives, and performing the old-fashioned
music that is close to their hearts. I especially love
performing for those whose memories are fading; it is such
a joy to watch their faces light up as they sing along with
their favorite folk song or gospel hymn!

I created "Classical Comforts" as a way to continue serving seniors through song. I have been performing locally at retirement and nursing homes for almost 10 years, and I recently released several classical, ragtime, and Sing-Along CD's for those who want to enjoy their favorite songs in the comfort of home.

In addition to piano, I play the alto saxophone, violin, cello, trombone, flute, and trumpet. My wonderful husband plays the French horn, and our home is always filled with music.
